Week Five CFB Pick'Em
Hogs visit the Dawgs and Kiffin tries to unseat Saban in loaded Week Five Slate.
#8 Arkansas vs #2 Georgia
Ralph- Arkansas's cinderella run might be coming to an end in Athens this weekend if Georgia can play up to their abilities. Georgia's defense has been relentless this year only allowing two scores all year long, but do not let Arkansas fool you, Sam Pittman has something brewing with his Cam Newton sized quarterback, elite wide receiver and swarm to the ball defense. Georgia 24 - Arkansas 20
John- Dawgs so far outscore opponents 168-23. Hogs outscore opponents 143-58. Dawgs big win over Clemson, not as big now! Arkansas 2 wins over ranked opponents. Dawgs D is Elite. Hogs D is close. Dawgs win, but closer than you think. 27-16!
Will- America’s Team!! The Razorbacks have been one of the most impressive teams to start the season. That will end Saturday. Georgia’s defense will be too much for KJ Jefferson and Co. Georgia 31, Arkansas 13
#7 Cincinnati vs #9 Notre Dame
Ralph- Notre Dame came out last week and took Wisconsin to the wood shed. Notre Dame will need that same mentality when playing Cincinnati and their electric offense with Desmond Ridder at the helm. Cincy 38 - ND 27
John- After a slow start, Leprechauns whooped the Badgers! This game in South Bend will be a great test to see if the Bearcats are truly the 7th best team in America. Irish pull it out 34-32!
Will- Notre Dame has played to the level of their competition all season before pulling away against Wisconsin. They can’t afford to start slow against Cincinnati. I think Notre Dame worked enough of their kinks out on both sides of the ball last week to perform well against Cincinnati. Unfortunately for Cincinnati, a loss will likely ruin their playoff chances. This one will be close. Notre Dame 28, Cincinnati 24
#12 Ole Miss vs #1 Alabama
Ralph- My favorite matchup of the week. The Lane Train returns back to Bryant Denny and is looking to make Nick Saban's reign of unbeaten to his former assistants. Alabama had a rough game against Florida only winning by two and not showing a lot on defense. Ole Miss might have the frontrunner for the Heisman and one of the most electric offenses in college football. Alabama 52 - Ole Miss 45
John- The Rebels have scored a lot and have had a week off to plan for Bama. Saban’s team will be ready after the wake up call 2 weeks ago against Florida. Bama pulls away late, 41-31!
Will- As much as I want Ole Miss to win, I’ve given up doubting Alabama. Nick Saban always finds a way to win and dominate, especially since his former assistants. Ole Miss can score, but not enough to beat Alabama. Alabama 41, Ole Miss 35
#21 Baylor vs #19 Oklahoma State
Ralph- Baylor coming off a win that shocked me personally over Iowa State and showing that they can hang around in the Big 12 after Texas and Oklahoma not really showing dominance. Oklahoma State is a sneaky team this year and has a huge win over Kansas State. Oklahoma State 40 - Baylor 35
John- Baylor impressed a lot of folks with their win over Iowa State. Don’t know a whole lot about the Cowboys, but I do know it’s hard to play at night in Stillwater! Advantage home team. Cowboys win 31-27!
Will- This is going to be a classic Big 12 shootout. I like OSU in a shootout with Mike Gundy running his Cowboys offense. OSU 41, Baylor, 35
#22 Auburn vs LSU
Ralph- The big question is who will be the quarterback at the end of the game for Auburn. Nix did not play well against Georgia State and was subbed for backup Tj Finley. Auburn will have to get rolling early to quiet that loud LSU fan base in Death Valley. LSU is without NFL caliber cornerback, Derek Stingley Jr, but have Eli Ricks to hopefully lockdown this young Auburn wide receivers. Auburn 28 - LSU 25
John- Auburn narrowly escapes GA STATE. Only loss is to undefeated Penn State. Still can’t figure Auburn’s identity! But LSU may even be harder to ID. Give the nod to the Bengal Tigers, at night, in Baton Rouge, LSU 30-27!
Will- The streak ends now. I don’t care how Auburn looked last week. They came away with a win in a classic trap game. LSU can’t beat Auburn at home forever. Auburn ends the 22 year winless streak at Death Valley. Auburn 30, LSU 27
