Troup County's Isaiah Hall finds a home at ETSU
Hall details his commitment to ETSU and how Troup County helped him get there.
The Troup County (GA) football program continues to place talent at the next level, as lineman Isaiah Hall announced his commitment to East Tennessee State University a few weeks ago in October. The senior chose the Bucs over interest from UPenn, Southern Illinois, Kennesaw State and others. So why ETSU?
“I knew ETSU was the place for me, the moment I stepped on campus, all the caches showed me lots of love,” Hall told The Crowded Booth. “ The players and fans were great and the atmosphere was just great all around. The joy, support and love the coaches show just stood out to me. It’s just more than football.”
Hall credits his head coach Tanner Glisson and the entire coaching staff with helping him achieve the opportunity to play at the next level, which was something he didn’t necessarily think would happen when he arrived to high school.
“When I came to Troup, I never thought I would be going to play at a Division 1 college. I just wanted to play varsity ball and playing with these guys has just made me tougher and understand the game of football more,” Hall said. “Coach Glisson has helped me tremndously with recruiting and is always putting me out there whether it’s a post on social media or a sports interview. Other coaches like Coach Copelan, Prather, Cross, McPhearson, Wilson always encourage me. It all has really helped me as a player.”
Hall is excited to get his opportunity at the next level, where the ETSU coaches are excited about his ability. Hall knows that the journey isn’t done yet though, as he continues to hone in on his skillset.
“The coaches just say they that love the way I play and how I just get after it. They love my intensity too,” Hall said. “They like how I have the courage to just go and hit someboyd and execute on every single play”
