OL Tim Maddox Headed to Mercer
Northside Patriot standout looks forward to competition at Mercer
When you think of an offensive line presence you first have to look at Northside High School’s own Tim Maddox. At 6’3 315lbs, Maddox is what you look for in an interior lineman. With the explosive first step and the overpowering strength that Maddox contains, he is able to dominate interior lineman and make a great leap to the linebacker. Maddox will be joining the Bears in Macon, Ga as a preferred walk on.
The process has been tough on all recruits, but Maddox felt overjoyed to have a decision made.
“It feels good to finally call a place home! It’s been a long journey and I’m thankful that they gave me a chance.”
Mercer stood out to the Northside standout, who explained in his interview that i was a no brainer
“Ever since I walked unto the campus it was just energetic and full of people that are happy to be in Macon. It showed that they really care down there.”
Every recruiting process comes down to that one big decision on where you will play the next three to four years, we wanted to know how Maddox went through his.
“I had a couple of interests from schools like Alabama State, Huntington college. What really went into my decision was the field I would like to go in off of the field and again just the people that’s there, everybody was friendly and just happy to be there.”
With the summer winding down, coaches start to get in contact with their future players, we asked Maddox what his coaches have been telling him.
“The coaching staff said they liked watching my film and my aggresiveness. They have really welcomed me with open arms.”
The Crowded Booth wanted to know what Maddox believes are his strengths are and what he has been working on lately.
“Some of my strengths is having quick feet, good explosion and my run game blocking. I’m continuing to get better on my posture and pass blocking.”
