KD Hutchinson Announces Commitment to Vanderbilt
All-purpose star for Harris County announces college commitment
Another local product has made his college decision. A multi-purpose athlete out of Harris County (GA) High School, KD Hutchinson, officially announced his commitment to Vanderbilt.
The Hamilton, Ga. product had a breakout junior season in 2020, leading the Tigers to the first round of the state playoffs.
Hutchinson picked Vanderbilt over schools such as Louisville, Boston College and Georgia State among others. The dynamic all-purpose back saw potential and a culture at Vanderbilt that was just too much to pass up.
“The family atmosphere and the culture,” Hutchinson told The Crowded Booth. “From day one, they have stuck with me. Before offers and after offers they’ve shown loyalty and love since the beginning.”
The coaching changes that were made in the offseason also brought new life to the Commodores’ program, as Clark Lea made quite the impression on Hutchinson.
“From the players, coaches and trainers they all believe in what he is doing,” Hutchinson said. “Coach Lea has the discipline and desire to win. He’s implementing them there and it is going to be a destination.”
Hutchinson becomes the 14th commit in the class of 2022 with under Clark Lea.
