Georgia Tech OL Corey Robinson enters the transfer portal
The multi-year starter announced his intentions on Monday morning.
Georgia Tech saw one of its more productive offensive linemen enter the portal on Monday, as offensive tackle Corey Robinson announced via X that he would test the portal for his last year as a graduate transfer.
Per PFF, Robinson graded out consistently at a high rate throughout the season. He had an impressive 99% efficiency rate in pass blocking and only allowed just five pressures all season. He tallied a 69.9 PFF grade, which included 92.8 for pass blocking. Robinson was a multi-year starter for the Yellow Jackets and was a big reason for the Jackets’ success in keeping the pocket clean this year.
What is the transfer portal?
The NCAA student-athlete transfer portal launched in 2018. It marked a change from when student-athletes had to get a release from one school to transfer to another and they could be limited as to where they transferred. The portal allows student-athletes to simply notify their current school and its compliance department that they intend to move on to another program. Entering the transfer portal does not mean a prospect has to transfer, it just means they can be recruited by other programs and take visits.
