Georgia Tech offers transfer DB Isaiah Cash
The Sam Houston transfer speaks on his Georgia Tech offer
As they await their bowl game destination, Georgia Tech is already looking to improve the 2025 roster through the portal. Defensive backs coach Cory Peoples was busy on Friday as he offered former Sam Houston DB Isaiah Cash. The veteran defensive back tallied 47 tackles, nine pass breakups and two interceptions as the Bearkats reached their first bowl game in program history.
It’s been a whirlwind for Cash, as he has heard from programs such as Ole Miss, Wisconsin and Louisville along with Georgia Tech. Virginia Tech extended an offer to Cash earlier today. The conversation with the Jackets went smooth as he and Peoples talked about an offer and more.
“It’s been a blur for real, really since this morning,” Cash told The Crowded Booth. “I think they (Georgia Tech) played some good ball this year and just lost some close games. They’ve got a good program over there. Coach (Cory) Peoples and I talked it was really great. It felt like we already knew each other.”
Cash decided to enter the portal after his head coach K.C. Keeler left to take the Temple job and his defensive coordinator opted to move to North Texas. The plan is currently to talk things over with his family as he navigates the next couple of days in the portal. He also plans on playing Bearkats’ bowl game against Georgia Southern.
Cash spent just one season at Sam Houston State after transferring from nearby Houston Christian. It was a year of development and improvement for the six-foot, 195- pound corner as he sought to compete at a higher level. He has already outlined some things that he wants at his next program.
“Really my tackling was the biggest thing I felt like I got better at this year,” Cash said. “This is going to be my last year coming up , so I want to be somewhere where I can compete to be a starter. I think I’ve shown that I can produce at every level. I want to win some football games.”
