Dynamic DB JQ Hardaway Welcomes the Pressure
How one of the top prospects in the Chattahoochee Valley seeks to achieve his dream
March 15th.
We are just under a month from when one of the top players in the Chattahoochee Valley will narrow his list of potential schools. His name is JQ Hardaway and you will probably want to remember his name.
The young and dynamic corner made the decision to transfer from Hardaway (GA) across the river to powerhouse Central-Phenix City. While he was already being heavily recruited, the opportunities with the Red Devils presented a better opportunity.
“Playing at Central is going to offer me the chance to play against some top tier talent,” Hardaway said. “This will allow for me to become a better player and more attractive to colleges.”
Hardaway has already piqued the interest of several of the top schools in the country including Georgia, Oregon, Florida and USC among others. When asked about what it feels like, the four-star cornerback couldn’t stop smiling.

“It is a great feeling to know that schools are interested,” Hardaway told The Crowded Booth. “I am thankful for the schools that have offered and feel blessed to have the chance to play at the next level.”
The chance to play at the next level is what every high school player dreams of. One look at the film of Hardaway and you can tell why schools are impressed. Still just a junior, Hardaway’s size at 6’2” and 170 pounds is a calling card for the modern cornerback. Coaches want size on the outside to compete with the physical players that line up at receiver. When you get to the film, then you will see the combination of size and speed that has coaches blowing up the 2022 product’s phone.
“That’s what coaches have continued to say to me throughout this whole process,” Hardaway said. “They really feel like I could be a game-changer at the next level.”
A game-changer. That is what college football is all about nowadays. Those special players that find a way to make the big plays in the key moments. College coaches see it already and Hardaway believes in himself.
“That next step is a tough one, but I believe in myself and love to compete,” Hardaway said. “Competition makes you better and I welcome the challenge.”
